OYSTERVILLE — Although he appears to wear only one hat, Joel Underwood is a man of many talents — historian, teacher, folksinger and actor. And, based on his past performances at the Oysterville Music Vespers, his Aug. 16 appearance at the historic village church will both inspire and entertain his audience. The service begins at 3 p.m. with a five-minute “Oysterville Moment” — this week, a story told by village elder Sydney Stevens. Three more Sunday Vespers services remain during this 2026 season, the last one being on “Labor Day Sunday,” Sept. 6. Donations to the collection baskets are devoted to daily maintenance of the 1892 building.
