The groundbreaking ceremony held last Wednesday for The Bridge, a nine-story luxury, 101-unit condominium tower in Mineola steps from the Mineola Long Island Rail Road station, was noteworthy.
The $130 million development is part of a wave of new luxury residential buildings remaking the village’s skyline.
At a time of a housing shortage in Nassau County and across New York, this is a very good thing.
The developers of The Bridge hope to attract Nassau residents seeking to downsize from larger houses, as well as high-earning young families.
The village’s plan has been followed under the administrations of Scott Strauss and now Paul Perirera, with the support of the village board, leading to a groundbreaking at The Bridge.
