Pawan Kalyan said Priyanka’s death was deeply distressing and expressed concern that a young doctor’s life had been cut short. Durgesh said the government had taken the incident seriously from the beginning and that those responsible would not be spared. He said the accused had already been arrested and remanded, and that police had been directed, following Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu’s instructions, to conduct a comprehensive investigation. Purandeswari participated in a candlelight rally with students of GSL Medical College and later joined another rally seeking justice for Priyanka. He alleged that the state government was attempting to weaken the case and criticised the Chief Minister, Deputy Chief Minister and Home Minister for not responding adequately to the incident.
