David Andrew Kurtz of Jamesport faces a felony and a misdemeanor following an alleged high-speed flight from a Daviess County sheriff’s deputy that authorities say exceeded 100 mph on Highway 190. One witness told authorities that Kurtz acknowledged after the pursuit that law enforcement had been after him and that he had fled. According to the statement, the passenger said Kurtz suddenly drove away and would not explain why when questioned by the passenger. The deputy reported that the high-speed driving continued for approximately three miles with a passenger in the front seat. Barner also reported that Kurtz had recently moved to Jamesport from Iowa and had previously lived in Kansas.
