Massachusetts Officials Call for Continued Water Conservation Despite July Rainfall

While Massachusetts welcomed July's rainfall, the state is not out of the woods yet when it comes to drought.
Much of Eastern Massachusetts also saw improvements after a very wet July helped bring much-needed rainfall across the state.
According to a Boston Globe report, Massachusetts received between 4.5 and nearly 9.5 inches of rain in July.
The most substantial long-term deficits exist across eastern Massachusetts, with Nantucket among those areas that have officials concerned.
Nantucket has a year-to-date precipitation deficit of nearly 14 inches — a substantial decrease from normal precipitation levels.
