Port Washington’s 12U Little League All-Star team has a chance at redemption after a 12-2 loss against Bayonne, N.J., on Monday, Aug. 10, to make it to the Metro Region championship game.
The six-game series has a winner’s and an elimination bracket, with the winner from each bracket competing in the championship game.
Bayonne’s win on Monday has placed them in the championship bracket, and Port Washington will compete against Darien, Conn., for the other spot on Wednesday, Aug. 12.
Port Washington fell behind early, allowing four runs in the bottom of the first inning.
