Entravision posted a blowout quarter on paper, but the growth had little to do with its radio and television holdings. The company’s Media segment was weighed down by declining national advertising, even as its separate ad-tech division nearly tripled its revenue in Q2. The Media segment posted net revenue of $45.1 million in the second quarter. “Local advertising revenue increased 1%, and national advertising revenue decreased 19%, excluding political revenue,” Christenson reported. In the first quarter, the Media segment grew 4% even as broadcast advertising revenue declined, while the ATS segment surged 204%.
