Taylor Farms, a California-based producer of fresh foods and prepared produce, said Sunday it recalled items containing jalapeños from Walmart, Kroger, Whole Foods, and other major U.S. retailers over concerns about possible Salmonella contamination, according to Reuters. The recall also covers some Taylor Farms products sold at Target, Trader Joe’s, and Hannaford stores across about 20 states. Taylor Farms said it stopped sourcing chili peppers from a grower in Sinaloa, Mexico, after investigators linked jalapeños from the grower to the multistate Salmonella outbreak. Investigators also identified Chipotle Mexican Grill and Qdoba among restaurants that received jalapeños imported by Coast Citrus. Taylor Farms said it had received no reports of illnesses connected to the recalled prepared foods.
