EFCC Arrests Fake Operative in Maiduguri, Recovers ₦3m Fraud ProceedsThe Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has arrested a suspected fraudster, Nuhu Dahiru, in Maiduguri, Borno State, for allegedly impersonating an EFCC officer and defrauding a victim of ₦3 million. Dahiru was arrested during an intelligence-led operation following reports of his alleged fraudulent activities in the Borno State capital. According to preliminary findings, the suspect allegedly posed as an operative of the anti-graft agency and used the false identity to obtain ₦3 million from his victim under fraudulent pretences. The EFCC said the entire ₦3 million was recovered from the suspect at the point of his arrest. Dahiru remains in EFCC custody and is expected to be arraigned in court after the completion of investigations by the commission’s zonal command.
