From its onset, marijuana prohibition advocates have sought to advance their agenda by sensationalizing the supposed strength of cannabis. First, the availability of higher potency cannabis products is not unique to today’s state-legal markets. Typically, when consumers encounter higher strength marijuana, they ingest lesser quantities of it. Second, higher potency marijuana products do not dominate state-legal markets. That’s because legalization is working largely as intended and is preferable to the failed policy of cannabis prohibition.
