Boys and Girls Homes needs more therapeutic foster parents in Columbus County to care for kids with behavioral and mental health diagnoses.
The program helps kids whose needs go far past those in traditional foster care.
Therapeutic foster care supervisor Bianca Richardson said kids in the program face tougher challenges than those in standard placements.
"Our department has the children in foster care who have behavioral diagnoses, mental health diagnoses," Richardson said, according to WECT.
"They might have more severe behaviors than a child in traditional foster care."
