Following the award of the most recent grant, the Millvale Community Development Corp. is celebrating more than $1.3 million it has raised for its community hub project as work on the building continues. The development corporation has owned the building since May 2014. MI Strip Works LLC received $5 million for the creation of Brickworks, a residential development in Pittsburgh’s Strip District. Located in the heart of Millvale’s business district, the 6,400-square-foot building is envisioned to become a hub for the development corporation, local nonprofits, small businesses and community events. In addition to the installation of a new sewer line, the development corporation plans to complete more visible work on the building, including a new facade, siding and a garage door.
