LOS ANGELES — Metrolink will suspend service on the southern end of its Orange County Line next week because of predicted high tides, the commuter operator has announced.
Service will be suspended Monday, Aug. 10, through Friday, Aug. 14, between the Laguna Niguel/Mission Viejo and Oceanside stations.
Originating and terminating Orange County Line trains at the Laguna Niguel/Mission Viejo Station will help minimize broader disruptions, including potential cancellations, providing customers with more predictable service and a better travel experience.”
The section of the Surf Line affected by the suspension is the subject of a study by the Orange County Transportation Authority to best address how to preserve the rail line.
That study will be discussed at two meetings next week [see “Meetings set on study …,” Trains.com, Aug. 5, 2026].
