The Centre has said it is continuing efforts to promote tourism destinations and local products of the North-Eastern states through exhibitions, fairs, festivals, digital platforms, social media campaigns and other promotional activities. Of this, ₹30 lakh each was allocated for the Neermahal Festival and Diwali Festival, while ₹20 lakh was provided for the Chabimura and Tirthamukh Festivals. The Ministry has also highlighted the Incredible India Digital Platform, revamped in September 2024, which promotes tourism destinations of the North-East through digital content in multiple languages. The Centre has further stressed cleanliness and sustainable tourism through Swachhata Action Plan activities, Swachhata Pakhwada and Swachhata Hi Seva initiatives. With nearly four lakh visitors recorded in just six months, Tripura’s tourism sector is expected to remain an important area of focus, particularly for strengthening Agartala’s role as the state’s tourism and connectivity hub.
