NET Web DeskFormer Jharkhand Public Service Commission (JPSC) Chairman and retired IAS officer Lalbiaktluanga Khiangte, a Mizo officer, was arrested by the Jharkhand Criminal Investigation Department (CID) on Monday in connection with alleged irregularities in recruitment examinations. Khiangte, a 1988-batch IAS officer of the Jharkhand cadre and former state chief secretary, had resigned from his post as JPSC chairman in July after the CID registered a case against him. Officials stated that incriminating evidence indicated that the contract for conducting the 14th JPSC examination was awarded to TSR Data Processing Private Limited (TDPL) in exchange for bribes. Tiwari, a Block Supply Officer in Godda district, had qualified the JSSC CGL examination in 2024. The investigation continues under the Prevention of Corruption Act, while public pressure mounts on the Hemant Soren-led government to take decisive action against the alleged examination syndicate.
