The Vietnam War lasted from 1962 until 1972, and involved almost 60,000 Australian servicemen and women. A total 553 were killed as a result of their service, while many more were wounded of left with physical or mental scars, Goulburn RSL Sub Branch secretary Rod MacLean said.
