Under Wisconsin’s open primary system, primary voters must select a party and then may only vote for candidates running from that party.
In 2022, about 295,000 people voted early when the top races were the Democratic U.S. Senate primary and the Republican gubernatorial primary.
2024 Democratic nominee Rebecca Cooke and former Eau Claire City Council President Emily Berge are competing in the Democratic primary.
