ONE KILLED AFTER SUV REAR-ENDS 18-WHEELER ON HIGHWAY 36 IN WASHINGTON CO. The Texas Department of Public Safety is investigating a fatal rear-end collision involving an 18-wheeler this (Monday) afternoon on Highway 36 in Washington County. DPS Sergeant Justin Ruiz said preliminary information indicates a 2007 Peterbilt and a 2005 Chevrolet Tahoe were traveling northbound on Highway 36. Ruiz said as the Peterbilt slowed to make a right-hand turn onto FM 390, the Chevrolet failed to control its speed and struck the rear of the 18-wheeler. The driver of the Peterbilt was also taken to Baylor Scott & White in Brenham with injuries believed to be minor.
