Google has just announced that it’s adding a new payment option to its Google Play platform by way of Venmo, which is now available as a checkout option. Starting today, users will be able to link their Venmo account directly to the Google Play Store to pay for mobile games, app subscriptions, movies, books, and creator content across the platform. The integration supports payments through both an existing Venmo balance and any external payment methods linked to the wallet, bringing Venmo’s familiar interface directly into the Android ecosystem. In order to set up the new Venmo payment option, users will first need to link their account by opening the Google Play Store on their device, navigate to settings, open the payment methods menu, and select Venmo to complete the authentication process.
