Madikeri : Marking three decades of public cultural observance, the Codava National Council (CNC) will celebrate the 31st Annual Public Kakkada Padnett on Sunday, August 2, at Capitol Village in Madikeri starting at 10:30 a.m. The event, which honours one of the most significant folkloric and agrarian traditions of the Codava ethnic community, will feature senior journalist and former media advisor to the Deputy Chief Minister of Karnataka, Deepak Thimmaiah, as the Guest of Honour. Organizers highlighted that Kakkada Padnett symbolizes the indigenous community’s deep spiritual connection with nature, River Cauvery, ancestral sacred groves (Devakads), and traditional warrior heritage. CNC leadership has urged members of the community to attend the milestone gathering dressed in traditional Codava attire.
