YEREVAN — Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan held a telephone conversation with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev on August 8, 2026.
During that summit, peace between Armenia and Azerbaijan was established and the text of a peace agreement between the two countries was initialed.
The two leaders particularly emphasized the important role played by President Trump and the United States government in advancing the peace process.
Pashinyan and Aliyev also noted the progress achieved over the past year in normalizing relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan.
They emphasized the importance of continuing efforts to advance the peace process and ensure lasting peace, stability, connectivity, and economic cooperation in the region.
