Trending on BillboardSpotify has announced the creation of a new label that will be applied to AI-generated artists and begin rolling out in mid-September. Music from artists bearing the label, called “AI Persona,” will not be included in personalized recommendations on the platform. Creators can begin disclosing that an artist profile is AI-generated starting Tuesday (Aug. 11). For accounts that Spotify labels as AI, artists will have the opportunity to either self-disclose or appeal. In April, Spotify launched the AI credits tool, initially provided only to Distrokid users, which allows artists to disclose which parts of a song utilized AI.
