Aden — A Yemeni military source reported Monday that 2 members of the Shabwa Defense Forces were killed and 8 others injured in a Houthi drone attack on one of their positions in Bayhan district, Shabwa province. The source told Deutsche Presse-Agentur (dpa) that the strike targeted a military site, with the wounded transferred to a local hospital for treatment. No immediate statement was issued by Shabwa Defense Forces regarding the casualties. The attack comes just days after two soldiers from the same force were killed in another Houthi assault on Harib district in neighboring Marib province. Shabwa Defense Forces operate under the supervision of the local authority in Shabwa, coordinating directly with the security committee and the Saudi-led coalition supporting Yemen’s internationally recognized government.
