NET Web DeskThe Naga People’s Organisation (NPO) has urged the Kuki Students’ Organisation (KSO), Sadar Hills, and all concerned parties to refrain from making allegations against individuals, communities or organisations without credible and verifiable evidence in connection with the arson incident at Kailenjang.
In a statement issued on Tuesday, the NPO said its delegates attempted to visit Kailenjang to ascertain facts and gather information from the ground after learning about the incident.
However, the delegation was allegedly obstructed by a group of Kuki men and women near the outskirts of Taphou Kuki village and prevented from proceeding to the affected site.
The NPO further claimed that security personnel deployed in the village had temporarily left for routine patrolling and that the incident reportedly took place around 20–25 minutes after their departure.
The NPO said the obstruction of its goodwill delegation was therefore deeply regrettable and reiterated its commitment to truth, justice, peace and the protection of civilians.
