LETTERKENNY’S largest student body has highlighted the accommodation shortage by appealing to local homes to “open their doors”Atlantic Technological University (ATU) issued its appeal because accommodation remains “limited” and “continues to place significant pressure on students, particularly first-year students and those relocating” to the town. The university is “encouraging individuals, couples, and families with an available bedroom to consider hosting a student”. AdvertisementUnder the national rent-a-room relief scheme, homeowners can potentially generate up to €14,000 a year, tax-free.
