Two separate fire outbreaks were recorded in Dawakin Tofa and Kumbotso Local Government Areas of Kano State, affecting an Access Bank branch and a residential building. The Kano State Fire Service disclosed this in a statement issued on Tuesday, August 11, 2026, by its Public Relations Officer, Saminu Yusif Abdullahi. “The responding firefighters successfully contained the fire and prevented it from spreading to other parts of the bank building,” the statement said. The Director of the Kano State Fire Service, Alhaji Sani Anas, urged residents to remain vigilant and adopt preventive measures to reduce fire outbreaks. “Members of the public should remain vigilant and take proactive measures to reduce the incidence of fire outbreaks,” Anas advised.
