Andries Gous’ superb 82 powered the Kings to a competitive total before captain Roston Chase produced a crucial spell in the middle overs to halt what had looked like a comfortable Falcons chase. Ackeem Auguste, Roston Chase and Matthew Forde could only manage cameos, but Gous seemed to have an answer for everything the Falcons attack threw at him. Cornwall then got the Falcons’ chase off to a flying start, smashing five boundaries from just 13 deliveries before his assault was brought to an end by Maheesh Theekshana. The two teams will meet again on Friday in Saint Lucia, with the Falcons looking to turn the tables.
