Ms Knox and Mr Sollecito were definitively acquitted in 2015, having previously had their convictions overturned on appeal. Ms Knox has been the subject of controversy for hosting a Fringe show about her wrongful conviction entitled Cartwheel, with Kercher's family criticising the choice to put it on and endorsing a petition to have it stopped. The Italian said he and Ms Knox no longer speak, but that speaking publicly about her wrongful conviction does not surprise him. Asked if she'd ever spoken to Ms Knox she said: "No, never. I don't think I need to, and I'm sure if the roles were reversed she'd be the same.
