Remedy Entertainment’s latest half-year financial report, published on August 11, 2026, has offered an update on the Max Payne 1 & 2 remake, and it’s a disappointing one. Rockstar currently owns the Max Payne IP, as Remedy sold it to Take-Two back in 2002. So, Remedy isn’t self-publishing the remakes, unlike their next major title, Control Resonant, releasing September 24, 2026. So, it’s natural that Remedy isn’t concerned with the Max Payne 1 & 2 remake just yet. A physical disc release seems very unlikely if the Max Payne 1 & 2 remake launches in 2028.
