Even though Democrats knew that they would oppose the GOP Farm Bill going into the committee vote, they introduced amendments to highlight critical needs for public health and environmental protections. Beyond Pesticides is urging Senators to vote against the GOP Farm Bill when it gets to the Senate floor and have a responsible debate on these issues in the next Congress. Delete harmful provisions in the GOP Farm Bill that will:Permanently exempt dozens of hazardous pesticides from human health and environmental safety reviews.
