Touching the Void's Simon Yates, one of the world’s most accomplished mountaineers, widely known for his role in the survival story, will appear in Whitley Bay. He will give a talk at the Playhouse in support of Northumberland National Park Mountain Rescue Team, on October 5 from 7.30pm. Since that infamous expedition in the Andes, Simon has travelled to some of the most remote and rarely explored mountain ranges on Earth. Simon's illustrated talk will share stories and images from his expeditions, including journeys in the Arctic, Antarctic, Alaska, and Central Asia. NNP Mountain Rescue Team said: "We’re incredibly excited to share that Simon Yates – one of the world’s most accomplished exploratory mountaineers – is coming to Whitley Bay for a special talk, with proceeds supporting our team.
