Travellers will notice more room to relax before boarding as part of ongoing improvements at Newcastle Airport. The airport has completed a major upgrade to its departure area, adding 450 new seats as part of a wider terminal expansion project. "These improvements are part of our three-storey terminal extension, which continues to transform the Airport experience." The upgrade is part of almost £60 million of investment in the airport's facilities over the last couple of years. Other recent improvements include a larger security area, with 99 per cent of passengers now clearing security in under 10 minutes.
