Emergency services attended the incident earlier this afternoon. A North East Ambulance Service spokesperson said: "We were called to a road traffic incident on the A69 near Haydon Bridge, Hexham, at 12.20pm on Tuesday, August 11. The AA travel map shows delays on the A69 appear to have cleared. A Northumbria Police spokesperson said: “Just after 12.15pm today (Tuesday), we received a report of a four-vehicle collision on the westbound carriageway of the A69 – just west of Hexham." Police said the road was closed while emergency services dealt with the incident.
