Royal Casino Slots at 51 Central Parade in New Addington has been empty for more than nine months, and a new planning application has been submitted to turn the unit into a Cake Box franchise. And despite being a cake shop, there won't actually be any baking going on inside. The former Royal Casino Slots premises would get a makeover inside, with refrigerated display cabinets, a cold room, and a new counter among the proposed changes. Cake Box branding and signage would be added to the front of the shop, while the existing entrance and windows would remain unchanged. Croydon Council will now consider the plans before deciding whether Cake Box can open at the former Royal Casino Slots site.
