The proposal stems from the council’s July 27 meeting, when the N-3 license application from Ryan Field caterer Levy Restaurants was on the agenda along with three restaurant liquor licenses for the stadium’s banquet halls. That timeframe has been used at Welsh-Ryan Arena ever since, and was copied over to the new Ryan Field license created in 2025. Councilmember Harris, a self-identified concertgoer who voted to allow them at Ryan Field in 2023, said during discussion that venues usually cut off alcohol sales “within the last hour.” If her proposal is approved, it’s not yet clear whether the change would take effect immediately or be delayed until Ryan Field’s liquor license is up for its annual renewal next year.
