Lumen enlisted Amdocs to bolster its back-office systems to support scaling its multicloud networking pivot. The partnership sees Amdocs deploy its aOS agentic operating system to migrate and modernize Lumen's enterprise service orchestration and order management platform onto Amazon Web Services (AWS). The partnership expands the pair’s existing relationship, with Amdocs having helped Lumen move similar workloads onto Microsoft Azure and Google Cloud. Lumen recently exited the copper business and is now pushing into network-as-a-service (NaaS) to cater more to hyperscalers and data center providers – an effort bolstered by its recent acquisition of Alkira. The firm’s multicloud shift sees it opt for agility and operational efficiency, claiming the shift will help it improve cycle times and accelerate time-to-market for new services.
