Tackle Club in Kidlington (OX5 1JD) had its opening party on Saturday, August 8, with attendees enjoying a barbeque, some free beer and live music. In addition, free whips were on offer, as those behind the new shop say they hope to inspire the young. Stocking all fishing equipment - apart from for sea fishing - the shop will be open from 8.30am to 6pm from Monday to Friday, and 10am until 5pm on weekends. However, Tackle Club is going to have a particular focus on encouraging fishing among younger people, with a Catch of the Day competition every week and educational days with top fishing pros. Fishing has really helped us in terms of our mental health and we want to help others as well.”
