Rajanna Sircilla: A three-day Varuna Yagam commenced at the Sri Bhimeshwara Swamy Temple in Vemulawada on Thursday, with devotees and dignitaries offering prayers for timely rainfall and the welfare of farmers across Telangana. State Ministers Thummala Nageswara Rao, Ponnam Prabhakar and Adluri Laxman Kumar attended the inaugural ceremony along with Government Whip and Vemulawada MLA Aadi Srinivas, MLAs Dr Sanjay and Kavvampally Satyanarayana. The dignitaries were accorded a traditional Poornakumbham welcome by temple priests under the supervision of Executive Officer L. Ramadevi. Speaking on the occasion, Thummala Nageswara Rao expressed hope that the rituals would bring good monsoon rains and prosperity to the farming community. District Collector Garima Agrawal, SP Mahesh B. Gite, temple officials, priests, Vedic scholars and devotees were present.
