HQAmy Hunt has won her first gold medal in 100 metres in the European Championships and also her first individual gold in her senior career, on day one of the 2026 edition in Birmingham, on Monday, which is also her second European gold medal after Great Britain won 4x100 m relay in Rome 2024. Hunt, 24 years old, also has silver medals in 200 m at the World Championships in Tokyo last September, and silver in 4x100 m relay at the 2024 Paris Olympics. "My parents gifted me these gold earrings to finally level up, because I wear all-silver jewellery. They said it was time for gold - they left me that note two nights ago - so it made me quite emotional. Great Britain now has two medals after one day of Championships, after winning silver in mixed 4x400m relay.
