Michael Brits launched the attack on his mother Deborah at their home at Fair Close, Bicester on March 27 this year, a trial at Oxford Crown Court was told. The jury was told how she heard Brits' mother shouting 'stay away from me' before she knocked the door with her hands covered in blood. Mrs Brits suffered stab wounds to her hand, stomach and right leg. The jury was told that just before police arrived, Brits called his brother David. When she was being taken to hospital, Mrs Brits told police her son had told her 'I have to get rid of you because you are evil'.
