A Peterhead pensioner who was seen attacking his injured black labrador has been banned from keeping dogs.
The 65-year-old’s pet, named Maxi, had at least one injury that vets described as being consistent with “heavy trauma”.
At Peterhead Sheriff Court this week, Sheriff Alan Sinclair told the OAP that the ban would serve as a punishment for his actions.
She said: “Neighbours within their respective property overlooking the locus observed the accused with Maxi, struggling to get the dog into the communal hall.
The vet would also note the fracture of the dog’s private area was “consistent with heavy trauma”.
