UK government and industry inject £130 Million into zero-emission vehicle tech

£130 million investment in zero-emission vehicle technologies, securing over 1,800 high-value manufacturing jobs and reinforcing skilled supply chains across regional industrial heartlandsDrive to accelerate zero-emission vehiclesDelivered through the UK’s Modern Industrial Strategy, the new funding package combines nearly £65 million in public grants with matching private sector investment.
Facilitated by the Advanced Propulsion Centre UK (APC) in partnership with Innovate UK, nearly £50 million of government funding is directly allocated to help automotive firms and research partners scale up production of future zero-emission vehicle components.
Consortium partnerships: Bentley Motors and Q5D Technologies, leading collaborative efforts to take advanced vehicle components to commercial readiness.
Early-stage development and demonstration: YASA, Nexperia UK, Electra Commercial Vehicles, Eatron Technologies, Thermulon, Anaphite, Deepform, and Hyster-Yale.
This funding builds upon £100 million in prior DRIVE35 supply chain grants awarded to regional businesses adapting their facilities for the broader electric vehicle transition.
