University of Idaho Extension and Canyon County Master Gardeners volunteers at the Caldwell Farm to Fork market Aug. 4. Meeting a needMarket organizers contacted UI Extension in 2024 to offer ideas about how to close the gap. With the master gardeners, UI piloted the Backyard Gardens program at the market that year and returned for the 2025 and 2026 seasons. UI Extension offers courses to beginning farmers, who ultimately could help add to the supply of fresh produce. “The seniors of Caldwell are always looking forward to the great bounties the Canyon County Master Gardeners bring to the booth.”
