According to ASP Stacy Smith, the report did not indicate signs of violence or trauma on Chi’s body. “We are guided by the report of the forensic pathologist, which gave the conclusion that it was asphyxia due to drowning,” Smith said. The two men vanished while travelling from Caye Caulker to Belize City the Sunday before. Investigators previously said the vessel the men were using was not seaworthy and that weather may have played a role.
