–The midway area on the Kossuth County Fairgrounds had to be evacuated Friday evening after a fire broke out inside a camper. According to the Kossuth County Sheriff’s Office, multiple 911 calls were received around 5:30 PM Friday reporting that a camper was on fire at the fairgrounds. The Algona Fire Department and Kossuth County EMS were paged to the scene, while law enforcement officials that were already near the midway helped evacuate the area. The camper was de-energized, and firefighters were able to extinguish the flames a short time later. The midway area was eventually reopened after the scene was made safe.
