Billy Alexander, associate director for the charity, said: "The Scottish Government and NHS leaders are failing Scottish stroke patients. Mr Bundy, who has campaigned for a 24/7 thrombectomy service ever since, said the fall in the treatment rate marked "a backwards step." The SNP's manifesto promised a further £25 million to deliver a "24/7 thrombectomy service with national coverage, so that thrombectomies are available regardless of geography". The figures form part of the Scottish Stroke Improvement Programme report, published by PHS on Tuesday, which draws on data from the Scottish Stroke Care Audit. We are clearly focused on delivering a 24/7 thrombectomy service so that thrombectomies are available regardless of location."
