The consultations are expected to pave the way for discussions on a possible cooperation arrangement among the opposition parties, including the possibility of rallying behind a consensus presidential candidate ahead of the 2027 election. The statement, titled, “G100: Consultations with opposition leaders set stage for unity summit,” said representatives of the platform had held discussions with the national chairmen, presidential candidates and running mates of the six opposition parties. The G-100 said the consultations revealed a broad recognition among the opposition parties of the need to overcome their differences and develop a more coordinated strategy ahead of the 2027 elections.
