The New York Times similarly reported that Trump’s actual whereabouts were concealed from journalists and some White House officials travelling with him. The White House had earlier said Trump left Turkey on July 8 aboard the former Air Force One. The C-32A military aircraft reportedly carrying Trump landed in Britain at about 10:20pm local time. The older Air Force One, carrying members of the media, arrived separately a few minutes later. Responding to questions about the operation, White House communications director Steve Cheung defended the security measures surrounding Trump.
