Probe into claims gardaí were told not to chase stolen car before horror M50 crash

Extra.ie understands that the stolen car, which had been sighted around the capital prior to crashing, failed to stop for gardaí before the horror collision in the early hours of Sunday morning. Eight teenage boys were inside the stolen car at the time and are now in different hospitals with varying conditions. What happens here is that gardaí on the roads will call into control and say something along the lines of, “A grey car failed to stop, several people in the car, car driving erratically”, that sort of thing.
