A lottery player has been left counting their lucky stars after throwing away a €1 million winning ticket, only to miraculously get it back. Fortunately for the lucky player, the ticket had been thrown away on a Sunday, meaning the rubbish had not yet been sent to landfill. The ticket was eventually discovered on Tuesday among a mountain of waste, inside a plastic bag containing other discarded tickets. Despite the extraordinary turn of events, the newly minted millionaire will still have to pay the cost of recovering their winning ticket.
